November 11, 1742- Robert Roberts, son of Cadwalader Roberts, marries Sarah Ambler, daughter of Joseph Amber & Ann Williams, at the Gywnedd Monthly Meeting in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.

November 30, 1742- Six years after his marriage to Esther Rhoades, Nathan Potts was required to make acknowledgement for his "outgoing," to Abington Monthly Meeting.
The couple had been married at the First Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia, and was accomplished contrary to the "usage of Friends".

Isaac Shoemaker & Hannah Roberts are married in Pennsylvania.
Isaac Shoemaker is the son of Peter J. Shoemaker & Margaret Op den Graeff. Hannah is the daughter of Thomas Roberts & Margaret Gove. Both were born in Germantown.
The couple settled in Upper Dublin township, Philadelphia (now Montgomery) county, where Isaac purchased a tract of land and followed the life of a farmer.

 Matthias Lukens dies at the age of 40 in Pennsylvania.
In August of 1700, Mathias Lukens was born in Germantown to Jan Lucken & Mary Tyson.
Jan Lucken had settled in Philadelphia County in 1683. Jan had an old Bible, published in 1595 by Peter Sebastian. In this Bible, he wrote :
"1700 the 13th of ye 8a mo. Mathias Lucken was Born."

On February 24, 1721, when he was 20, Matthias married Ann Johnson, daughter of Richard Johnson & Margaret Millan. Ann survived him.
His Will, dated 18 Sep 1741, grants property of two grist mills and 108 acres to son John.

LUCKEN, MATHIAS. Philadelphia County. Yeoman. 9 mo. 18, 1741. February 19, 1741. F.280.
Exec: Wife Anne and brother-in-law John Johnson (cooper). Children: Dirk, John, Daniel, Mary, Hannah and Ann. Witnesses: John Rush and John and Samuel Rose. Codicil dated 11 mo. 21, 1741. Same witnesses.

A son, Dennis, is born to Dennis Conrad and wife, Ann Knight, in Horsham Township, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The child does not survive, dying in 1742.

Ann Roberts is born to Thomas Roberts & Rachel Livezey in Bristol Township, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

1740- My sixth great granduncle, Jonathan Potts, marries Naomi Hall in Germantown, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Their first son, Jonathan, is born later that year.
Their is confusion about Naomi's name. The Old Potts Bible, owned by Mr. George W. Potts, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, refers to her has "Emey" and "Omey". It seems to me, that these are simply diminutive forms of Naomi.

Barbara Tyson, widow of Mathias Conard, dies at the age of 53 in Germantown, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Cornelius & Margaret Theissen.

Thomas Tyson is born to Peter Tyson & Mary Roberts in Abington Township, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.

Mary Cleaver is born to Derrick Cleaver & Mary Potts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Among the witnesses are the names of Edwards, Foulke, Roberts, Griffith, Lester, Ball and others well known in this part of Pennsylvania.

"She was a daughter of our ancient friend, Hugh Foulke and Ann his wife..., and being religiously educated, was in her young years an example of virtue and sobriety to her sex; and in the twenty-second year of her age, was married to William Edwards, an approved minister of Richland Monthly Meeting."

1738- My seventh great granduncle, Henry Cunreds, purchases three acres adjoining the property of William Roberts for £4, and ten years later a tract adjoining of fifty acres from Joseph Roberts for £112. By dint of persistent industry he cleared the land, and made a comfortable home for himself and his children. February 1727- Peter Tyson and Mary Roberts are married in Germantown, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. They were granted permission at the Monthly Meeting at Abington, January 27, 1727, and the marriage was reported at the next Monthly Meeting, February 24, 1727. Mary was the daughter of Thomas Roberts of Germantown.Thomas had emigrated to Pennsylvania from Wales, with William Penn, on his second voyage, in the "Canterbury," in December, 1699.

(Peter Tyson is my first cousin 9 times removed. Our common ancestors are Mathias Dohrs & Agnes Neesgen Op den Graeff and Coentgen Lenssen Coenis & Anna Entgen Thones.)
