September 7, 1728- Jeremiah MacVeagh marries Mary Potts in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

1728 with genealogical notes on their descendents. Microfilmed by the Genealogical Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 22 March 1983 (Jeremiah was a son of Edmond):
"WHEREAS Jeremiah MacVeagh of the township of Lower Dublin in the County of Philadelphia, Province of Pennsylvania, Yeoman, and Mary Potts of Bristol Township in the said County and Province, Seamstress, having declared their intention of marrying with each other before several Monthly Meetings of the people called
Quakers, at Abington Meeting house in the county aforesaid according to the good Order used amongst them, Whose proceedings therein after a deliberate consideration, First having Consent of Parents and relatives Concerned and nothing appearing to obstruct were approved by the said meetings.
NOW THESE ARE TO CERTIFYE, all it may concern that for the full accomplishing of their Intentions this Seaventh day of the Ninth Month in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seaven Hundred and Twenty Eight, They the said Jeremiah MacVeagh and Mary Potts appeared in a public Meeting of the People and others at Abington Meeting house aforesaid, And in a Solemn Manner the said Jeremiah MacVeagh taking the said Mary Potts by the hand did openly declare that he took the said Mary Potts to be his wife, promising through God's assistance to be unto her a Faithful and Loving Husband until it shall please God by Death to separate them. And then and there in the said Assembly the said Mary Potts in Like manner Openly Declared that Shee took the said Jeremiah MacVeagh to be her husband Promising through God's Assistance to e unto him a faithful and Loving wife until Death them shall separate. And Moreover the Said Jeremiah MacVeagh and Mary Potts (Shee according to the custom of Marriage Assuming the name of her husband: As a farther Confirmation thereof did then and there to these presents sett their hands and wee whose names are hereunder written being present among others at the Solemning of their Marriage and subsequently in manner aforesaid As witnesses thereunto have also these presents Sett our names the day and year above written.
