The Worland Family in America and Beyond

I began my life in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, on an island filled with forests and wild rhododendrons. I was separated from my Worland family there at an early age. Recently, I was reunited with my family and learned of my heritage. And so, this journey to know my ancestors began. The Worlands, Gideons, Newtons, Conards... they were the colonists, the settlers, the pioneers. They fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War. 1740, Connecticut

1740- Mary Abernathy dies at the age of 62 in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut. She was the daughter of William Abernathy & Sarah Doolittle. At age 17, she married William Tuttle. William died in 1727, and Mary, at age 50, second married Isaac Curtis, son of Isaac Curtis & Sarah Foote, in New Haven.

Samuel Key is born to Samuel Key & Annah Cornwall in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut.

(Mary Abernathy is my first cousin 9 times removed. Our common ancestor is Abraham Doolittle.
Samuel Key is my second cousin 8 times removed. Our common ancestors are John Cornwall & Martha Peck.)

October 1729, Connecticut

October 1, 1729- Isaac Curtis marries Mary Abernathy, daughter of William Abernathy & Sarah Doolittle, in New Haven, Connecticut. This was a second marriage for both. Mary was 50 years old. They had no children.

October 20, 1729- Ebenezer Roberts is born to Daniel Roberts & Eunice Cornwall in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut.

(Mary Abernathy is my first cousin 9 times removed. Our common ancestor is Abraham Doolittle.
Ebenezer Roberts is my second cousin 8 times removed. Our common ancestors are John Cornwall & Martha Peck.)
