My eighth great grandaunt, Mary Tyson, wife of Jan Lucken, dies at the age of 82 in Germantown.
Mary was born in Kaldekirchen, Germany, the daughter of Mathias Dohrs & Agnes Neesgen Op den Graeff. She and Jan immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1683.
(In the end of the 17th century some of the Op den Graeff`s descendents migrated to the United States. They are among the thirteen families (Original 13) often referred to as the Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Founders, who arrived on the ship Concord on October 6, 1683.)

Lucken—luken—Family Records.—Miss Annie M. Daniels, of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, contributes the following records of the Luken family, copied from the Bibles of Jan Lucken, who settled in Philadelphia County in 1683

Hannah Williams, wife of John Lewis Roberts, dies at the age of 40 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of John Williams & Eleanor Klincken.
The Society of Friends establishes a Monthly Meeting at Richland, Bucks County. Samuel Foulke, a prominent member, is appointed clerk at age 24. He continued in that capacity " about thirty-seven years, and nearly thirty years served as clerk to the meeting of ministers and elders."
Dennis Conard, infant son of Dennis Conrad & Ann Knight, dies in Philadelphia.
Sarah Tyson, daughter of Matthias Tyson & Mary Potts, dies at the age of 28 in Germantown.
Her brother, John Tyson, dies at the age of 30 in Upper Dublin township. He is unmarried.
His will, dated February 28, proved April 10, 1742, by which he devised his whole estate, including real estate to be sold by his executors, to his mother, Mary Fitzwater, and brothers and sisters, viz.; Rynear (executor), Isaac, Matthew, Margaret Hallowell, Mary Lewis and Elizabeth Tyson.
A son, Peter Lukens, is born to John & Sarah Lukens in Horsham Township, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
A son, William, is born to William Lukens & Martha Pennington.

Image via WikipediaOctober 4, 1738- William Edwards, of Milford, marries Martha Foulke, daughter of Hugh Foulke, at the Richland Monthly Meeting in Buck's County, Pennsylvania.Among the witnesses are the names of Edwards, Foulke, Roberts, Griffith, Lester, Ball and others well known in this part of Pennsylvania.
"She was a daughter of our ancient friend, Hugh Foulke and Ann his wife..., and being religiously educated, was in her young years an example of virtue and sobriety to her sex; and in the twenty-second year of her age, was married to William Edwards, an approved minister of Richland Monthly Meeting."

May 9, 1716- Cornelius Theissen dies in Germantown, Pennsylvania.

The Upper Burying Ground of Germantown, sometimes called Ax's burying ground, from John Frederick Ax, who had charge of it from 1724 to 1756, is on the east side of Main street, above the Concord school. Here are buried many of the early settlers of Germantown and their descendants. The oldest known grave is that of Cornelius Tyson, who died in 1716. Judge Pennypacker takes this to be the oldest existing tombstone to the memory of a Dutchman or German in Pennsylvania.
WILL OF CORNELIUS TYSON. Germantownship, Philadelphia County. Weaver.
April 6, 1716. July 27, 1716.
"In the name of God, Amen. I, Cornelius TYSON, of Germantown in ye County of Philadelphia, weaver, being sick and weak of body but of sound and disposing mind and memory, Thanks be to God therefore. Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament. First of all I recommend my Soul unto ye Hands of God my Merciful Creator and Saviour, and my body to be buried at the discretion of my executors. And concerning my worldly estate wherewith ye Lord hath Blessed my endeavors in this province; Imprimis, to my wife Margaret all and singular the plantation, housing, dattle, and moveables, during her natural life. To my youngest son, Peter TYSON, ye value of twenty pounds.To all and everyone of my children, to wit: Matthias TYSON, Barbara, ye wife of John CUNRADS, Alitie, ye wife of John CUNRADS, Willieminse, ye wife of Lawrents HENRITK, and the above Peter TYSON, after my said wife's decease, all and singular, mine estate.
