May 2, 1733- My ninth great grandaunt, Esther Cornwall, dies at the age of 83 in
Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut.
Esther, daughter of William Cornwall & Mary Bailey, was born in
Hartford,
Connecticut in 1650. She first married John Wilcox. John Wilcox was a
"payle maker", and has also been listed as fence viewer, grand levy man, and townsman.
John owned many tracts of land around town. Wilcox was well along in years when he was married for the fourth time, to Esther Cornwall. She was twenty-one years of age, and he was in his sixties.
Esther was two years younger than John's daughter Sarah Ensign.
They had three children: Ephraim, Esther, and Mary. Most of the Wilcoxes in America are descended from Ephraim.
John Wilcox died
May 26, 1676. Esther survived him by fifty-seven years. She was married secondly to John Stow of Middletown.

May 15, 1733- My eighth great granduncle, Captain Joseph Doolittle, dies at the age of 66 in Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut.
Joseph, son of Abraham Doolittle & Abigail Moss, was born in Wallingford, Connecticut in 1667. In 1690, he married Sarah Brown. The marriage was performed by Thomas Yale, Esquire. As a widower, at the age of 53, he took a second wife, Elizabeth Holt.
Joseph served as a deputy in Wallingford, Connecticut
1713-1716.
