The Worland Family in America and Beyond

I began my life in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, on an island filled with forests and wild rhododendrons. I was separated from my Worland family there at an early age. Recently, I was reunited with my family and learned of my heritage. And so, this journey to know my ancestors began. The Worlands, Gideons, Newtons, Conards... they were the colonists, the settlers, the pioneers. They fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War. April 1727, Massachusetts

April 12, 1727- Hannah Peabody dies in Freetown, Bristol, Massachusetts. Hannah Peabody was born about 1647 in North Kingston,Newport, Rhode Island.  She married John Read in 1667 in Newport, Rhode Island. They had three children.

"Hannah Read the Wife of the above John Read deceased April 12 day of the day of the week called Wednesday about 9 of ten of the clock in the forenoon of the day about 84 years and departed in the year of our Lord 1727."
