January 8, 1742- Captain Wait Cornwall, husband of Mercy Todd, dies at the age of 49 in Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut. He is the son of Jacob Cornwall & Mary White.
His brother-in-law, Ebenezer Wetmore, will die three days later.
January 11, 1742- Ebenezer Savage Wetmore, husband of Elizabeth Cornwall, dies at the age of 45 in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut. He is the son of John Whitmore & Mary Savage.
January 22, 1742- Thomas Doolittle is born to Thomas Doolittle & Hannah Fenn in Wallingford Township, New Haven, Connecticut.
