The Worland Family in America and Beyond

I began my life in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, on an island filled with forests and wild rhododendrons. I was separated from my Worland family there at an early age. Recently, I was reunited with my family and learned of my heritage. And so, this journey to know my ancestors began. The Worlands, Gideons, Newtons, Conards... they were the colonists, the settlers, the pioneers. They fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War. 1735, Maryland

1735- My fifth great granduncle, Richard Hayden, has married Eleanor in St. Mary's County, Maryland. Their son, William, would be born later in the year.

Eleanor Neale, widow of Bennett Hoskins, has died at the age of 27 in Bryantown, Charles County, Maryland. Eleanor was born about 1708 in St. Mary's County, Maryland, to Raphael Neale & Mary Brooke.

Basil Brooke marries Dorothy Taney in Calvert County, Maryland.

Anne Manning is born to John Manning & Mary Greenwell in St. Mary's County, Maryland.

John Wiseman is born to Robert Wiseman & Elizabeth Heard in St. Mary's County, Maryland.

(Anne Manning is my third cousin 6 times removed.
Dorothy Taney is my third cousin 6 times removed. Eleanor Neale is her second cousin. Their common ancestors are Captain James Neale & Anna Maria Gill.
Eleanor Neale is my third cousin 6 times removed. Our common ancestors are Benjamin Gill & Mary Mainwaring and Richard Brent & Elizabeth Reed.
John Wiseman is my third cousin 7 times removed. Our common ancestors are Robert Cole & Rebecca Gill and Oliver Mainwaring & Margaret Torbock.)

1728 Maryland

1728- My seventh great grandfather, Archibald Pike, dies at the age of 70 in St. Mary's County, Maryland.

John Hardy marries Barbara Allison in Prince George's County, Maryland.

Elizabeth Clare Hagan is born to William Hagan & Eleanor Hanson in Charles County, Maryland.

Mary French is born to John & Monica French in St. Mary's County, Maryland.

Rebecca Darnall is born to John & Rachel Darnall in Charles County, Maryland.

Jane Neale is born to James Neale & Jane Boarman in Charles County, Maryland.

Bennett Hoskins marries Eleanor Neale, daughter of Raphael Neale and Mary Brooke, in Bryantown, Charles County, Maryland. A daughter, Mary Ann is born the same year.

1729 Maryland

1729- Elizabeth Finch dies in Charles County, Maryland, at age 42.
Elizabeth Finch had lived her life on the plantation Goodwill, which was originally purchased in 1681 by her father, Guy Finch. It was located north of and adjoined the plantation Timberly, which was owned by Arnold Livers.
Elizabeth's third husband Peter Hoggins dies one year later in 1730. It was a brief union, they had married in 1728.

(Elizabeth Finch is my sixth great grandmother.)

(Arnold Livers is my fifth great grandfather.)

1729- Son, William Elder, is born to William Elder and Ann Wheeler in Frederick County, Maryland. He is the grandson of Elizabeth Finch, who dies the same year. (Elizabeth Finch married three times: Solomon Stimson, William Elder, Peter Hoggins.)

(William Elder is my 1st cousin six times removed.)
