The Worland Family in America and Beyond

I began my life in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, on an island filled with forests and wild rhododendrons. I was separated from my Worland family there at an early age. Recently, I was reunited with my family and learned of my heritage. And so, this journey to know my ancestors began. The Worlands, Gideons, Newtons, Conards... they were the colonists, the settlers, the pioneers. They fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War. August 1736, Connecticut

August 7, 1736- David Doolittle dies at the age of 29 in Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut.
"Families of Ancient New Haven" by Donald Lines Jacobus shows that David is
"probably" the son of Theophilus Doolittle and Thankful Hall. David married Mary Bassett in 1734.

are Abraham Doolittle & Abigail Moss.)

October 4, 1735- Miriam Blakesley is born to blacksmith Samuel Blakesley & Elizabeth Doolittle in Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut.

October 9, 1735- Robert Hubbard marries Elizabeth Sill in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut.

October 24, 1735- Mary Cornwall is born to John Cornwall & Mary Foster in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut.

October 27, 1735- Thankful Doolittle is born to David Doolittle & Mary Bassett in Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut.

(Thankful Doolittle is my second cousin 8 times removed. Our common ancestors are Abraham Doolittle & Abigail Moss. Miriam Blakesley is her second cousin.

August 6, 1735- Thomas Atkins marries Martha Miller, (daughter of Governor Benjamin Miller, and granddaughter of Thomas Miller, the first settler, and his second wife, Mercy Bassett), in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut.

August 12, 1735- James Cornwall is born to Jacob Cornwall & Edith Whitmore in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut.

August 20, 1735- Ruth Doolittle is born to Ebenezer Doolittle & Lydia Warner in Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut.

(Thomas Atkins is my second cousin 8 times removed. Our common ancestors are Deacon Thomas Whitmore & Sarah Hall and George Hubbard & Elizabeth Watts.
James Cornwall is my second cousin 9 times removed. Our common ancestors are William Cornwall & Mary Bailey and John Whitmore. Thomas Atkins is his third cousin.
