The Worland Family in America and Beyond

I began my life in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, on an island filled with forests and wild rhododendrons. I was separated from my Worland family there at an early age. Recently, I was reunited with my family and learned of my heritage. And so, this journey to know my ancestors began. The Worlands, Gideons, Newtons, Conards... they were the colonists, the settlers, the pioneers. They fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War. On This Day, January 15th

January 15, 1659- My eighth great grandaunt, Elizabeth Hubbard, is born to George Hubbard & Elizabeth Watts in Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut.

January 15, 1706- My seventh great granduncle, Nathaniel Doolittle, is born to Samuel Doolittle & Mary Cornwall in Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut.
January 15, 1693- A son, William Wood, is born to Thomas Wood & Hannah Ricer in Swansea, Bristol, Massachusetts Bay, British America.

January 15, 1702- Giles Slocum, son of Giles Slocum & Ann Lawton, marries Ann Borden, daughter of Matthew & Sarah Borden, in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
The ceremony was performed by Joseph Sheffield.

January 15, 1741- Solomon, the infant son of Theophilus Doolittle & Sarah Dorchester  dies one week after his birth in Wallingford, New Haven County, Connecticut.
 
January 15, 1742- Demetrius, the infant son of Daniel Collins & Lois Cornwall within a month of his birth in Guilford, New Haven, Connecticut, British America.

January 15, 1747- A son, John Doolittle, is born to Daniel Doolittle & Elizabeth Dayton in New Haven, Connecticut, British America.

(William Wood is my first cousin 9 times removed. Our common ancestors are Thomas Wood & Rebecca Hall.
Giles Slocum is my first cousin 10 times removed. Our common ancestors are Thomas Lawton & Elizabeth Salisbury.
Solomon Doolittle and John Doolittle are my second cousins 8 times removed. Our common ancestors are Abraham Doolittle & Abigail Moss.
Demetrius Collins is my third cousin 8 times removed. Our common ancestors are William Cornwall & Mary Bailey.)
