July 1742, Pennsylvania

July 7, 1742- A daughter, Eleanor, is born to Anthony Williams & Sarah Shoemaker in Cheltenham Township, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.

(Eleanor Williams is my second cousin 7 times removed. Our common ancestors are Aret Klincken & Niske Agnes Jensen.)

In July, 1742, George Thomas, the Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, presided over treaty negotiations with the Iroquois. The Treaty Held with the Indians of the Six Nations was signed in Philadelphia.
Tribes involved included the Mohawk, Onayuit, Onantago, Jenontowano, Caiukquo, and Tufcarora.
