The Worland Family in America and Beyond

I began my life in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, on an island filled with forests and wild rhododendrons. I was separated from my Worland family there at an early age. Recently, I was reunited with my family and learned of my heritage. And so, this journey to know my ancestors began. The Worlands, Gideons, Newtons, Conards... they were the colonists, the settlers, the pioneers. They fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War. April 1738, Connecticut

April 2, 1738- Abigail Wetmore, wife of Ebenezer Clark, dies at the age of 53 in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut.
She was the daughter of John Whitmore & Abigail Warner. Her mother died when she was about eight weeks old. His father soon married her stepmother, Mary Savage.

April 12, 1738- Michael Doolittle is born to Daniel Doolittle & Elizabeth Dayton in New Haven, Connecticut.

(Abigail Wetmore is my first cousin 9 times removed. Our common ancestors are Thomas Whitmore & Sarah Hall.
Michael Doolittle is my second cousin 8 times removed. Our common ancestors are Abraham Doolittle & Abigail Moss and John Cornwall & Martha Peck.)

March 1738, Pennsylvania

"Residence of Washington in High Street, ...Image via WikipediaMarch 24, 1738- Derrick Tyson marries Susanna Thomas in Abington, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It is the second marriage for 41 year old Derrick. His first wife, Ann Hooten, died in 1734 at the age of  28.

March 30, 1738- Cornelius Tyson marries Barbara Pennypacker, daughter of Hendrick Pannebecker, the founder of the Pennypacker family in Pennsylvania. He was "several years" older than his wife,  who was born in 1720. They are married in Philadelphia.

( Derrick Tyson is my first cousin 9 times removed. Cornelius Tyson is his first cousin once removed. Cornelius Tyson is my second cousin 8 times removed. Our common ancestors are Mathias Dohrs & Agnes Neesgen Op Den Graeff and Coentgen Lenssen Coenis & Anna Entgen Thones.)

March 28, 1738- Sarah Sisson is born to George Sisson & Drucilla Cole in Warren, Bristol County, Rhode Island.
Thomas Tallman is born to Benjamin Tallman & Elizabeth Gorton in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

( Sarah Sisson is my second cousin 8 times removed. Our common ancestors are George Sisson & Sarah Lawton. Sarah Cook is her third cousin.
Sarah Cook is my third cousin 8 times removed. Our common ancestors are Thomas Lawton & Elizabeth Salisbury.
