October 3, 1737- William Lawton is born to Isaac Lawton & Sarah Howland in Bristol, Rhode Island.
October 15, 1737- Silas Sherman is born to Peleg Sherman & Innocent Wodell in Tiverton, Newport County, Rhode Island.
October 19, 1737- Thomas Sherman takes Mary Sanford as his second wife in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island. She is his second cousin.
His first wife, Sarah Sisson, had died in February of that year.
(William Lawton and Silas Sherman are my third cousins 8 times removed. Thomas Sherman is my second cousin 9 times removed. Our common ancestors are Thomas Lawton & Elizabeth Salisbury.
Mary Sanford is my first cousin 9 times removed. Our common ancestors are George Sisson & Sarah Lawton. )
The Worland Family in America and Beyond
I began my life in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, on an island filled with forests and wild rhododendrons. I was separated from my Worland family there at an early age. Recently, I was reunited with my family and learned of my heritage. And so, this journey to know my ancestors began. The Worlands, Gideons, Newtons, Conards... they were the colonists, the settlers, the pioneers. They fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War.
