| Tombstone of Abigail Adkins Hubbard |
April 23, 1735- Abigail Adkins, wife of Robert Hubbard, dies at the age of 58 in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut.
The daughter of Josiah Adkins & Elizabeth Whitmore, she was born in 1676.
On her tombstone in Riverside Cemetery, Middletown, is the inscription:
Pious, Kind, & Good, Lov'd by all Near,
Usefull on Earth, to Heaven dear,
Was she whose dust Lyes buried here
(Abigail Adkins is my first cousin 9 times removed. Our common ancestors are Deacon Thomas Whitmore & Sarah Hall. Her husband, Robert Hubbard, is also my first cousin 9 times removed. Our common ancestors are George Hubbard & Elizabeth Watts.)
