The Worland Family in America and Beyond

I began my life in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, on an island filled with forests and wild rhododendrons. I was separated from my Worland family there at an early age. Recently, I was reunited with my family and learned of my heritage. And so, this journey to know my ancestors began. The Worlands, Gideons, Newtons, Conards... they were the colonists, the settlers, the pioneers. They fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War. December 1740, Connecticut

December 4, 1740- Elizabeth Sleed and Peletiah Clark are married in Haddam, Connecticut. Soon, they would have their first son, Aaron.
The couple were the first settlers of the area of Haddam known as Little Town.

December 16, 1740- Simeon Moss is born to David Moss & Mindwell Doolittle in Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut.

(Elizabeth Sleed is my first cousin 9 times removed. Our common ancestors are John Cornwall & Martha Peck.
Simeon Moss is my third cousin 8 times removed. Our common ancestors are John Moss & Abigail "Goody" Charles, Abraham Doolittle, and Deacon Paul Peck & Martha Hale.)

September 1727, Connecticut

September 23, 1727- George Sleed is born to Jonathan Sleed & Thankful Cornwall in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut.
