His first wife, Ann Hooten, died in 1734 at the age of 28.March 30, 1738- Cornelius Tyson marries Barbara Pennypacker, daughter of Hendrick Pannebecker, the founder of the Pennypacker family in Pennsylvania. He was "several years" older than his wife, who was born in 1720. They are married in Philadelphia.
